Why do the animatronics kill you in fnaf.

Watching them makes them slower. Bright light in their eyes freezes them. You could immobilise them by damaging them with a weapon. Shooting out joints, smashing or hacking off limbs, etc. Burning them causes them to fail, be destroyed, and also releases any spirits haunting them.I understand how the game plays and how you are supposed to beat it but, I am still kind of confused why the animatronics in this game attack you for.
